A while back we discussed the power of leveraging pet nicknames and private
jokes to build attraction. The effectiveness of this technique is found in that it creates an auditory “regression” response. Her past associations of nicknames and private jokes instantly creates a mental “relationship paradigm” that she subconsciously project onto you. I ran across a study that can take the use of nicknames a step further. The study, conducted by Mauricio Carvallo and John Jones, suggests that people choose to marry others who have similar-sounding first or last names. All else being equal, if Sandra, Steve, Michelle and Michael all meet one another for the first time, Sandra will be more likely to become romantically involved with Steve then with Michael, and the opposite is more likely to occur with Michelle. The underlying reason is that people have a natural tendency to be attracted to things that remind themselves.
What happens if the woman you are pursuing has a different-sounding first or last name? Create a nickname for her that rhythm’s with your first or last name!
This verbal ”anchor” will allow you to “double dip” by creating both a regression response, that naturally shifts her into a “relationship paradigm”, as well as leveraging the findings in the study conducted by Carvallo and Jones!
Give it a try and let me know how it works!
