The New York City Mass Transit, unfortunately, has no shortage of panhandlers and the six train is no exception. As my main means of returning home from a day of work, and for several years at that, the train, and the faces of those who cram these mobile metal people haulers become familiar over time. Rocawear, as I came to know one of the panhandlers as he wore a Rocawear sweater over several other layers of clothing, would often get off the last stop of the train, which was my stop as well. Rocawear would head down to street level and prepared for one of the best attraction sleight of verbal manipulation ever, and, in the process served as an example of the three foundations of all attraction: opening, comfort and then closing.
Rocawear would pull out four quarters and say:
Rocawear: “Mrs., do you have a dollar for four quarters?
Innocent women: “In fact I do: Here you go!”
Rocawear: “Thank you! O, would you be so kind as to spear a quarter?”
This is stuff of genius!
Rocawear would first open the girl with a simple, none aggressive question. The question itself would be such that he was able to get some important intelligence (she has quarters) and eliminate or reduce the woman’s excuses (If he would have asked for a quarter she more then likely would have just ignored him).
By having the women reach for the dollar out of her purse, she had already bought into the story of who he was and what he ready needed (comfort level).
Finally, by having eliminated the possibility of her NOT having the quarter he positioned it so that it was almost impossible for her to say no (Closing)
Often, we are in such a hurry to bed a woman that we overlook the basic steps in the seduction process. To generate attraction first open, then build comfort and with comfort comes seduction—lessons from Rocawear.
Survival Tip: Start small but aim high. Rocawear could have asked for a dollar, 2 quarters or 75 cents but she found it hard to turn a request for a quarter. What small steps can you take with that special lady you are trying to attract?
