It’s been a week since my recent trip to Vegas, and as I reflect on all the
tomfoolery, I couldn’t help question some of my fellow single mates, who’ve interrogated me as to why I go spend a seemly ridiculous amount of money on sinful pleasures. For those skeptics here are two subtle and overlooked reasons.
1. Vegas helps reduce anxiety approach when you come back home—This may seems counter intuitive as for anyone that has spent any time in Vegas recently, would tell you that women are dressed to impress. Walk the strip and there’s no shortage of 8’s 9’s and 10’s. Here’s a lesson: learn to mentally “bottle up” those 9’s and 10’s; what I mean by this is try to remember how that 10 looks (this shouldn’t be to hard if you’re a breathing male). Now, next time you’re approaching a girl back home, mentally compare the female you’re about to approach to that 10 you saw in Vegas. Chances are-she’s not as attractive. What will naturally happen is that your approach anxiety will automatically be reduced as the law of contrast kicks in. If you tell yourself “she’s hot but not as hot as the girl I try to approach in Vegas” the likelihood of overcome approach anxiety will be dramatically reduced.
2. Be part of her story: Every girl wants to walk away with a story from Vegas, something that she can share with those friends back home or something to talk about years later. Being in Vegas puts you on center stage. Threesomes, strippers wearing eye patches, getting a happy ending during a performance of Jersey Boy, whatever!!! The stories are there to be created and told but there’s one caveat—you have to be there!
Survival Tip: Money shouldn’t be an excuse not to go! The cheapest time to Visit Las Vegas is during its (relatively small) off-season. Hotel prices drop as thermometers rise, making the months of July and August ripe for better deals. The same goes for January and February – since Christmas and New Year’s are two of the city’s biggest draws, there is a tendency for there to be a slight drop off in business after the holidays pass.
