1. Posture:
I have a friend of mine that specializes in helping actors with posture and body movement. Her field of operation is called the Alexander Technique. She basically teaches actors to improve physical postural habits, particularly those that have become ingrained and or are conditioned responses. The technique is claimed to improve performance, self-observation and impulse control and relieve chronic stiffness, tension and stress. She had made an observation about the way I was walking, and with a slight change, I become almost an inch taller. Of course, she didn’t literally make me taller—I had a slight slouch that affected my appearances.
Remember: Women are attracted to confident men, and the first visible sign of this is good posture.
2. Be a Gentlemen:
This one is actually a slam-dunk. With the amount of guys wearing their pants 2 inches below their butt crack, and the number of broken homes over the past 20 years, standard gentlemen qualities and basic mannerism have taken a back seat. Learn to use the utensils properly, take small bites—cavemen style eating should be left among the fellas.
Remember: early on, these slight gestures are subconsciously suggestive. There’s nothing seductive about implying, that during a make out session, you will engulf her like a raw steak. Women always have a recording going on in the back of their minds that goes “can I bring this guy home to mom and dad” and “what will my friends think of him…”
3. Hygiene:
The number of guys that don’t brush twice a day always floors me. You will see a guy wearing dirty clothes, smells like he just came back from a three-day workout and refuses to iron a shirt. Go get a scent at Sephora or Macy—the investment is well worth it.
A recent Men's Health survey of women found that 31 percent of women would be willing to overlook a man making at least 10k less in salary if he was well groomed.
Enough said…
