Tis The Season…

Where has the year gone? Amazing, it’s that time of year where we start to think about something unique to provide our love one during the holiday’s. In a previous post, we mentioned a company called www.vaporsky.com and it’s Stellar Décor Art.  The artwork is a canvas that provides an illustration of how the stars looked at the exact moment something special happens in your life (Think Birthday, Anniversary etc.) The gang over at www.vaporsky.com has recently come out with Resonant Décor, an elegant display of the sounds around you.

Unique Holiday Gifts For “Her” This Holiday Season…by Steve Amarante

Over the past few days I’ve received a few emails requesting some suggestions for unique Holiday gifts.  Gifts often should reflect two aspects: 1. What stage of the relationship are you in? That’s to say, have you been on one date, together for a few months or married? The second aspect is that the gift (albeit unconscious to the male brain) general signal “intention” to the opposite sex. Here are a few ideas for the holiday season or, dare I say, Valentine days which is just a couple of months away:

StreetSpark.com Location Based Mobile Dating Application by Steve Amarante

GPS driven Location base mobile applications are the rave these days. Applications like foursquare, which allow you to share your location and activity in real-time, have been extended to the dating world. UK based www.streetspark.com (coming to the good old USA soon) will allow you to specify what kind of person you are keen on meeting and Street Spark will look for a suitable match in your proximity. These matches are termed “sparks”, and when one such match is found it is up to you and him/her to “ignite” the “spark”. If you do that successfully, you can chat or meet up. If not, you just “extinguish” the “spark” and keep on looking.

I am not 100% sure if this will catch on, but it’s interesting to see the new technology Cupid has at his arsenal beyond the bow and arrow…

WinkVid-A New Spin On Old Speed Dating Concept

Beyond the traditional brick and mortar speed dating parties, Winkvid a Chicago based company, has expanded on the old model by creating a site which streams live face-to-face video. The concept is the same; meet 10+ women, only via the web from the comfort of your home through what they call a “WinkUp,”. In essences it’s a one-hour speed-dating event that places you in four-minute video conversations with singles in your area. The event takes place at a specific time — 8 p.m. EST on June 20, for example. Just log in before the event starts and make sure your camera is working, and you’ll get connected with your potential matches. Currently, only in Chicago, this can easily be expanded to other states.

Outside of the efficiency, you and your potential lady friend are assured that you (or she) have not digitally enhanced pictures or exaggerated that facebook profiles—not that you would exaggerate your profile to attract a woman!
