Chaos Theory blew my mind during my senior year in college. Wikipedia
describes chaos theory as the behavior of certain dynamical systems – that is, systems whose state evolves with time – that may exhibit dynamics that are highly sensitive to initial conditions (popularly referred to as the butterfly effect). As a result of this sensitivity the behavior of chaotic systems appears to be random. This happens even though these systems are deterministic, meaning that their future dynamics (outcome or result) are fully defined by their initial conditions, with no random elements involved. It’s for this reason that it’s theorized that the flapping wings (i.e. initial conditions) of a butterfly in Asia can cause a hurricane in the US (outcome or result). The Butterfly Effect has several implications when it comes to our relationships—none more important then it helps you frame your relationships in a new context.
